Mad Dogs won the toss and batted hitting 198 all out in 35 overs. Hoboken got 3 run-outs including one clipping the bail from Dimitri Silva at fine leg on debut. Azeem Choudhury 2 for 21,Ramjit Singh 2 for 31 and Ashutosh Thaker 2 for 36 were the pick of the bowlers. After a torrid start losing openers Singh and Silva along with Thaker with the score at 19 for 3 in the 5th over,Nikhil Sharma and Hafeez Saheed put on 75 for the 5th wicket before Saheed departed for 23. Sharma hit a brilliant 59 including 5 fours and 2 sixes was caught on the long on boundary soon after.Despite a late blast from Darragh Dempsey with 37 not out and Sukhin Srinivas with 14,HCC fell short by 30 runs losing 8 wickets in the process.
